Meet Your Doctor
In the words of William Arthur Ward, "A warm smile is the universal language of kindness." At Imagine Dentistry, we will always welcome you to our office with warm smiles, and work diligently to create a comfortable, positive experience for you every time you visit our practice. As your dentist, my goal is to help you establish optimal dental health and the confident, fantastic smile that you deserve. In addition, if you struggle with headaches or TMJ (jaw joint) pain, I will use my advanced dental training from The Dawson Academy to help assess and treat these problems.
I lived all over the U.S. while growing up, most frequently landing in Nebraska and Texas. I completed college at Rice University and dental school at the University of Texas School of Dentistry in Houston, TX. Finally, I came to Charlotte to complete my residency training at CMC Hospital. I fell in love with the Queen City during that year, and my husband and I decided to permanently relocate to North Carolina. Awesome decision!
Soon after I opened my dental office in 2012, I earned the prestigious Fellowship Award from the Academy of General Dentistry (a.k.a. FAGD designation), signifying my commitment to continuing education. Only 6% of general dentists have earned this honor! I've also received a Charlotte Top Dentist award in 2016, 2017, and 2018. Outside of the office, I enjoy kickboxing at 9Round, eating good food, hiking in the mountains, and spending time with friends. But most of all, I love spending time with my three wonderful sons, my husband, and my extended family. They are my joy!
Meet Your TEAM
Hello, my name is Candy. I began my dental career in 2000 as an orthodontic assistant in the mountains of Asheville, NC. I started working in general dentistry in 2007, transitioned to the administrative side, and found my niche in the front office. My favorite part of my job is building relationships with patients and families, and hearing their amazing stories from visit to visit! I am so thrilled to be in an office with ladies who all share the same philosophy of exceptional patient care. I look forward to greeting every patient with a friendly smile at the front office and I am excited to answer any questions!
Outside of Imagine Dentistry, I am enjoying Charlotte as my new home. I enjoy walking and training for long distance events. I am also a "Blanketeer" with the non-profit organization, Project Linus. To contribute, I sew handmade blankets for children in need. I have two little Boston Terriers, Tasty and Baxter, that we refer to as "soccer balls" with their black and white coloring! My three children, Barry, Garren, and Carrie Ann, are all in their 20s and I couldn't be more proud of them. I love living close to them here in Charlotte. The most fun part of my life is that I get to be a grandma to my 1-year-old grandson, Emmett, here in Charlotte.
I am one of the friendly dental hygienists who you will see for your professional cleaning appointments. My goal for your appointment is to make you feel comfortable and safe. Sometimes that means a quiet appointment with soothing jazz music and some gentle nudges to keep you awake. Others love to watch TV, catch up on life, and share a story or two.
I have been a dental hygienist since 2006, when I graduated from CPCC's dental hygiene program. With an undergraduate degree in biology and a thirst to teach, I am able to collect the scientific information related to each patient's situation and package it into a format that can be easily understood and discussed. Go ahead and ask... I'd love to find an answer for you. All of the ladies here want you to leave our office knowing as much about your smile as the "experts." Learning can be a lot of fun!
I married my adventurous high-school sweetheart, Jeff, in 2000. Our crazy family circus now includes our brilliant son, Freedom, the oldest, and our 2 younger, dramatic daughters, Aine and Siri. With each of the kids being about 12 months apart and all born in March, it brings a whole new meaning to "March Madness!" They keep me hopping and remind me daily of God's blessings and what matters most in life!
My name is a Ana and I am originally from Romania. I moved to Charlotte in 2007 and I graduated Central Piedmont Community College in 2012. I joined Dr. Coambs' wonderful team in August and you can find me in the office every Thursday and Friday. One of the most fulfilling aspects of being a dental hygienist is having an active role in my patients' oral care while establishing a trusting relationship with them. Something that is very dear to my heart is volunteering for North Carolina Mission of Mercy and several local dental care buses.
In my spare time, I enjoy baking and reading. I am also a self-proclaimed crazy cat lady, with only one cat (Sushi) at the moment, but more to follow! My husband Mike is a Charlottean and thanks to him I have discovered the magic of American football. So between cheering for the Panthers and going on hikes together, weekends are pretty full!
Hi, my name is Angela! I began dental assisting school in 2016 and completed my externships in early 2017. I am so excited to be a part of this amazing team. I knew the first time I walked into Imagine Dentistry that this practice was different. These ladies are a family and they have welcomed me with open arms. I love interacting with our patients, and helping guide them through all phases of their treatment to achieve their dental goals.
When I am not with the Imagine family, I enjoy spending time with my husband, daughter and our families. My husband and I are native to Union County -- we realize we are a rarity! Our daughter Nichole just started high school and she is the joy of our life. Our family also includes 2 chihuahuas, a yorkie-poo, and 2 barn cats. We enjoying taking our camper to the beach or mountains as often as possible. I enjoy photography and you can usually find me with some sort of camera in my hand. In 2016 I set a goal to run/walk the Cooper River Bridge Run in 2017, I am happy to say I accomplished that goal on April 1st, 2017. I have caught the running fever and I'm looking forward to my next race!
I was born and raised in Seymour, Connecticut, and I am a huge UCONN fan! I moved to the Carolinas back in 1996, and have since settled in Fort Mill, South Carolina. As one of Dr. Coambs' dental assistants, my primary goal is to make sure that you feel relaxed and comfortable during your treatment. I'm also happy to answer any questions that you may have. I thoroughly enjoy my job because, not only am I able to help patients each and every day, but I also learn so much from them! I find out what restaurants to try, about vacation spots they've visited - you name it!
Being a huge sports fan, I can usually be found at a game or watching one on TV. I love football, NASCAR and basketball, so there is almost always something for me to keep up with. As much as I enjoy sports, my greatest
loves are my daughter Carissa, my son Joey, and my step-son Michael - and of course my fur girls, Princess and Sunshine, too.
Hi, my name is Asia! I grew up in White Plains, New York. I moved from New York to Georgia, and finally landed in North Carolina in 2009. I like being a dental assistant because I like being able to help patients get their smile and confidence back. I like to travel, and I love spending time with my family every chance that I get. My sister and I are best friends - we are two years apart and do everything together! I love kids, and putting smiles on their faces. I'm very outgoing, willing to learn, and always smiling. I can't wait to build a relationship with each and every one of you!
