Meet Your Doctor
I look forward to meeting you! Here are a few fun facts about me...
I have lived all over the United States, but I call Nebraska my original home. In Houston, Texas, I completed my undergraduate studies at Rice University, then completed my Doctor of Dental Surgery degree at the University of Texas School of Dentistry in 2005. After graduation, I entered a General Practice Residency (GPR) program at Carolinas Medical Center hospital here in Charlotte to further my dental training. I fell in love with Charlotte during that year, and my husband and I decided to permanently relocate to North Carolina. Awesome decision!
For five years, I worked at other dental offices and met fantastic patients and staff members, but never found the right fit. Then I had the opportunity to open my own dental practice in 2012 - Imagine Dentistry - and as they say, the rest is history. In the Arboretum area of south Charlotte, we have established a fantastic dental office that makes you feel right at home and has you looking forward to your next visit. Imagine that!
We work with patients of all ages, helping them establish optimal dental health and confident smiles. In addition, if you struggle with headaches or TMJ (jaw joint) pain, I have completed advanced dental training from The Dawson Academy to help assess and treat these problems. I want to help you achieve the comfortable and beautiful smile you deserve.
My passion for dentistry has led me on international mission trips to Nicaragua and the Dominican Republic. Locally, I have participated in the NC-MOM free dental clinics here in Charlotte, to help those in need receive necessary dental care. I belong to two local dental study clubs and attend a variety of continuing education courses throughout the year. I am a member of the American Dental Association, North Carolina Dental Society, and the Academy of General Dentistry. It is my goal to stay on top of the latest dental technology, dental photography, and clinical dental techniques in order to give my patients the best in oral health care. In 2012, I earned the prestigious Fellowship Award from the Academy of General Dentistry (FAGD designation), signifying my commitment to continuing education (only 7% of general dentists have earned this honor!).
My husband, Ed, and I absolutely love Charlotte and are glad we discovered this wonderful city in which to settle. We have earned our "citizenship" after living here more than ten years now. We are blessed with two wonderful sons, Blaine and Simon, who are the joy of our lives. Outside of the office, I enjoy kickboxing, eating good food, hiking in the mountains, spending time with friends, and most of all--spending time with my family.
We look forward to having you as part of our Imagine Dentistry family!
I will see you soon!
Meet Your TEAM
My name is Amanda, and you never know where I might pop up in the office! I could be the first smiling face you see when you come through the door, or you could see me in the back of the office assisting Dr. Coambs. No matter where you see me, my main job is working together with our amazing team to make your dental experience the best! I am so privileged to work with a group of ladies that truly care about our patients and who strive for excellence each and every day. I have been blessed to work in the dental field for over 15 years, and my passion is being a part of changing people's lives -- one smile at a time.
When I am not at the office with my Imagine Dentistry family, I am at home making memories with my wonderful husband, Eric, and my handsome son, Zachary. We spend our time as a family enjoying the outdoors. We love kayaking, hiking, and discovering all of the beauty that NC has to offer. When we aren't out exploring, I enjoy volunteering at my son's school and reading. A few fun facts about me: I am from Pensacola, FL, home to some of the world's most beautiful beaches, and I LOVE football!
I am one of the friendly dental hygienists who you will see for your professional cleaning appointments. My goal for your appointment is to make you feel comfortable and safe. Sometimes that means a quiet appointment with soothing jazz music and some gentle nudges to keep you awake. Others love to watch TV, catch up on life, and share a story or two.
I have been a dental hygienist since 2006, when I graduated from CPCC's dental hygiene program. With an undergraduate degree in biology and a thirst to teach, I am able to collect the scientific information related to each patient's situation and package it into a format that can be easily understood and discussed. Go ahead and ask... I'd love to find an answer for you. All of the ladies here want you to leave our office knowing as much about your smile as the "experts." Learning can be a lot of fun!
I married my adventurous high-school sweetheart, Jeff, in 2000. Our crazy family circus now includes our brilliant son, Freedom, the oldest, and our 2 younger, dramatic daughters, Aine and Siri. With each of the kids being about 12 months apart and all born in March, it brings a whole new meaning to "March Madness!" They keep me hopping and remind me daily of God's blessings and what matters most in life!
My name is a Ana and I am originally from Romania. I moved to Charlotte in 2007 and I graduated Central Piedmont Community College in 2012. I joined Dr. Coambs' wonderful team in August and you can find me in the office every Thursday and Friday. One of the most fulfilling aspects of being a dental hygienist is having an active role in my patients' oral care while establishing a trusting relationship with them. Something that is very dear to my heart is volunteering for North Carolina Mission of Mercy and several local dental care buses.
In my spare time, I enjoy baking and reading. I am also a self-proclaimed crazy cat lady, with only one cat (Sushi) at the moment, but more to follow! My husband Mike is a Charlottean and thanks to him I have discovered the magic of American football. So between cheering for the Panthers and going on hikes together, weekends are pretty full!
My name is Carol, and you will find me assisting with various dental procedures alongside Dr. Coambs. I have been assisting since 1995, and I love my job here at Imagine Dentistry. We all share the common goal of helping each individual meet their unique dental needs - this is what brings me the most joy.
I enjoy spending time with my husband Keith. We both love the outdoors and spending time with our precious rescue Boxer/Rotweiller mix Lucy, who stole our hearts. I enjoy spending time with my son Isaiah and looking forward to what his future holds. He is a sweet, talented young man with a love for the Lord.
I enjoy teaching patients about oral health and answering their questions. I like to make my patients feel at ease, and actually not mind coming to the dentist! What I love most is working with a dentist who is so detail-oriented and a true pleasure to assist. Dr. Coambs cares for each patient's individual needs and puts their best interest at heart. As you can tell, I absolutley love working at Imagine!
Hi, my name is Angela! I began dental assisting school in 2016 and completed my externships in early 2017. I am so excited to be a part of this amazing team. I knew the first time I walked into Imagine Dentistry that this practice was different. These ladies are a family and they have welcomed me with open arms. I love interacting with our patients, and helping guide them through all phases of their treatment to achieve their dental goals.
When I am not with the Imagine family, I enjoy spending time with my husband, daughter and our families. My husband and I are native to Union County -- we realize we are a rarity! Our daughter Nichole just started high school and she is the joy of our life. Our family also includes 2 chihuahuas, a yorkie-poo, and 2 barn cats. We enjoying taking our camper to the beach or mountains as often as possible. I enjoy photography and you can usually find me with some sort of camera in my hand. In 2016 I set a goal to run/walk the Cooper River Bridge Run in 2017, I am happy to say I accomplished that goal on April 1st, 2017. I have caught the running fever and I'm looking forward to my next race!
