Essential Oils can help combat upcoming cold weather germs!!!
The cooler weather is upon us, and with it come cold and flu germs. Here is a great tip for cleansing the air in your home or office. Did you know that many essential oils contain antimicrobial properties. Some of my favorites for this purpose include Cinnamon, Clove, Eucalyptus, and Rosemary. They are the germ fighting super heroes of the plant world. They smell great and make an awesome addition to your aromatherapy to bring in the fall season in full force.
"Germ Fighter" made by Plant Therapy is a staple in my house! It contains the pure essential oils of Lemon, Clove, Eucalyptus, Cinnamon, and Rosemary. Place a few drops of these essential oils into a pot of water on your stove or a small crock pot and allow the warm water to release the oil vapors into the air.
It smells amazing and always gets great compliments from any company, and it helps to cleanse the air when guests bring sneezes and coughs into our home. Legend tells that this combination of essential oils was used by robbers and thieves during medieval times to protect themselves from plague and other diseases of their victims. A 1997 study at Weber State University showed the oils in this blend to be 99.96% effective against airborne bacteria! (I haven't seen that article, but I can tell you it works!)
You can create the same effects from the individual pure essential oils as well and they can be found in many health stores or on Amazon.
Happy Germ Fighting!
